Silhouettes are one of the most common types of photography. Created by exposing the background or light. The subject which stands in front turns into a black figure. The reason for such a popularity with silhouettes is because of the ability to recognize the figures. Thesee images also create emotion, mystery, drama and more. Although these images don’t create a crist story, it is up to the viewer to create their own story for the image. Silhouettes can be created in many ways with many subjects which makes this type of photography endless. The goal is to get the subject with a recognisable outline and a bright background which will washout the color of the subject and turn it completely black. The image on the left is a man on a rooftop with a view of Los Angeles on top of that in editing the saturation of all colors was reduced except blue, so the viewer could still get a feel of the sky. The photo in the middle is a photo of a girl trail view of a sunset. In this image you see the beautiful curbs of the female with a male twist of the skateboard. In the photo to the right is an image of butterflies threw a transparent jar lid on top of the jar itself. This image shows that not every silhouette has to be a person. Silhouettes can also be created my objects like butterfly stickers, heels, teddy bears, plants, vases, furniture and more. In the image the rainbow effect was created with a flashlight and a colorful ski mask. This is to show you that you can use your creativity to make effects.
